The world of eCommerce is neither stopping nor even slowing down. Staying up-to-date is important for any e-business owner or eCommerce professional, but also for the individual consumer - after all, it's good to know what solutions and opportunities brands are providing, right? How do you find out? By following our eCommerce News, published regularly every 2 weeks. In the latest part, we'll reveal what eBay is planning, what's new on Allegro, and how Furgonetka rushes to help with abandoned shopping carts. Are you reading on?
Recently the Internet has been flooded with information that eBay, which has been operating on the market since 1995, has announced its intention to increase involvement in Poland. Why such a decision, marking the second attempt in the country by the Vistula river - especially since the first one in 2005 ended in a fiasco? The creators of the platform noticed that due to the pandemic the percentage of people buying online and making transactions in our country has significantly increased. They concluded that this is an opportunity for another trading platform to make its presence heard.
How is eBay becoming more active in Poland?
It will be very interesting to see whether this global trading platform will find its place in a market that has been dominated by Allegro for a long time and Amazon (without spectacular results) for a year. So far, it has to be said that eBay is taking very cautious steps, offering fewer opportunities than its competitors. It remains to be seen how eBay will manage its business in order to appeal to the preferences of the Polish consumer.

In the last eCommerce news we wrote about Allegro's increased expansion abroad, launching an English-language version of its store with deliveries to European countries and payments in euros. The next step, related to the international situation, was the implementation of the Ukrainian language version. In Ukrainian, you can register an account, log in, search for products and offer titles, and go through the entire shopping process - right down to the thank-you-page. What's more, articles explaining doubts available in the Help tab have been translated, and customers can get support through the website in their native language.
What do you need to do to use the Ukrainian language version? Just change the localization settings in the Account tab or click on the flag near the search bar. For the time being, the Ukrainian language version of the store is available in the version for desktop - however, the mobile application is also being developed.

Are you familiar with Furgonetka, which handles deliveries of shipments ordered online? Or maybe you already apply its services in your online store? In either of these situations, you should be interested to know that the company has implemented a new solution - Portmonetka. It is a fast checkout functionality, i.e. providing the possibility of fast purchase finalization. No need to create an account and log in? Absolutely - the tool utilizes previously registered accounts (on Google, Allegro or Apple). What is more, it only requires you to enter your shipping details once, choose your favourite shipping method (choosing from 12 courier companies) or payment method (5 most popular operators available). Each subsequent purchase is processed at lightning speed - not only in your store, but in any other store which decides to integrate with this fast checkout tool.
Portmonetka can come in handy especially when you see too significant percentage of abandoned shopping carts in your eCommerce store and suspect that such situation is a result of registration requirement. The solution proposed by Furgonetka and made available to eCommerce owners is supposed to provide users with the same experience as on shopping platforms.
