mCommerce, VR, same-day delivery - eCommerce news #no. 28

Recent studies and reports perfectly show that Internet users are not only very keen on eCommerce shopping, but are also increasingly willing to use innovative solutions. The above findings were quickly recognized by owners of shopping platforms, equipping their sites with increasingly useful functionalities. Shopping from anywhere in the world? Delivery to a parcel machine in just a few hours? A virtual fitting room on your smartphone screen? All of this is now possible - and you can read more about the innovative approach to eCommerce in the latest issue of Advox Press Release!

mCommerce in the race for leadership - Mokka study

Banking, social networking and shopping - these are the apps that mobile users use most often. According to a survey conducted by one of the leading financial service providers Mokka, as many as 71% of consumers use their phone to shop online. All indications are that mCommerce is taking the online sales market by storm. Why are customers increasingly opting for smartphone-based shopping? The most frequently highlighted advantage is the ability to place an order anytime, anywhere. What else does the survey reveal?

The brand's report also included a summary of the most popular online payment methods in 2022. Based on the responses of 600 respondents, it showed that consumers are most likely to use:

  • BLIK mobile payments,
  • fast transfers,
  • payment cards,
  • traditional bank transfers,
  • mobile payments,
  • deferred payments.

An expanded eCommerce payment catalog undoubtedly greatly enhances the consumer experience and reduces the risk of cart abandonment due to the lack of a favorite payment method. Being aware of the diversity in this area and expanding the catalog of methods available on your online store is a way to take the next step in the battle for customers. This fact is confirmed by the words of Mark Biernacki, CEO of fintech Mokka, who stated that "it is the customer's shopping experience that will determine the future of online commerce." mCommerce undoubtedly strives to provide the user with the most positive online shopping experience possible - it's worth keeping this in mind and implementing the right solutions in your eCommerce.

CCC creates virtual reality

One of the leaders in the mCommerce market is CCC - the store's mobile application is already used by more than 7 million Poles, and its developers continue to introduce new usability to ensure a better shopping experience for users. With their help, customers can not only shop, but also:

  • search for products based on photos,
  • check the availability of products in the nearest stores by scanning the barcode,
  • take advantage of the assistance of a virtual assistant.

Soon app users will be able to try out an even more innovative solution that will allow them to try on the shoes of their choice without leaving home - all thanks to modern VR technology.

How to use the feature? To "enter" the CCC Virtual Showroom, you will only need a smartphone and the app. After pointing the camera at your feet, a visualization of one of the 100 available pairs of shoes will appear on the screen (the app developers plan to expand the product catalog in the future). This is how we find out whether we "actually" like the shoes in question. If, on the other hand, we want to make sure that a particular pair will match the whole styling, we need to point the phone at the figure in the mirror.

Sales results and very good evaluations of the CCC application show that users definitely value the innovations introduced in the online store - due primarily to the provision of an experience increasingly similar to that characteristic of stationary stores. Why not think about what modern solutions will work for your eCommerce?

Delivery straight to the parcel machine the same day - new Allegro service

Allegro is invariably the leading representative of the Polish eCommerce market. Such a position obliges constant development - and in this regard the trading platform does not disappoint. The recently introduced solution - Allegro One Kurier - is the first logistics service in Poland, under which parcel delivery to parcel machines is delivered on the day of purchase. For now, this option is available in 10 of the largest Polish metropolitan areas (including Warsaw, Poznan, Krakow and Wroclaw).

Until now, marketplace customers have only been able to take advantage of the one-day delivery option via courier. Given the acceleration of lifestyles, enabling this option with parcel machines could boost sales. Research commissioned by Allegro shows that as many as 71% of eCommerce users express a desire to order everyday products (such as contact lenses, coffee or diapers) online - and it is precisely these types of items that require the fastest possible delivery.

Allegro's logistics services are definitely an added value for sellers - they allow them to build a competitive advantage by eliminating the barrier of prolonged waiting for an order. In addition, they reduce the negative impact on the environment - all vending machines are equipped with air sensors, and up to 95% of them are covered with vegetation. What's more, in the future the company plans to use bicycles and electric cars for deliveries to reduce air pollution.

Will the above solutions prove to be the new service standard in eCommerce? We will probably see soon enough.
