You know that feeling when you start a new job and there are more questions than answers in your head? You are well aware that such a situation can be stressful. After all, a new company brings with it a lot of changes - a new environment, new people and a new daily routine. How do you prepare for this? We have found a way to make you feel as comfortable as possible during your first days at Advox. Find out what the pre- and onboarding process at our company is all about! Who knows, maybe you will soon take part in it?
Let's start at the very beginning. What is pre-onboarding and what does the term even mean? In HR terminology, "onboarding" is the familiarization of a new employee with the company's culture and life. Few people know, however, that this process starts right before they arrive at the office, and that's when we call it "pre-onboarding."
The time just before starting work can be extremely stressful. New surroundings, unfamiliar faces and responsibilities can create a feeling of overwhelm. This is why the entire process is taken care of by a recruiter from the HR department. At Advox, we do our best to ensure that the recruited employee does not feel lost - to this end we use pre-onboarding. What exactly does this process look like?
Our priority is to make the new employee feel at ease and allow them to prepare freely for the challenges of the first day. Depending on how long you are away from starting work and the position you have applied for, you can expect several messages. We always try to convey only the necessary information, avoiding the feeling of being overwhelmed. So what kind of messages can you expect from us?
That's all the essentials, but depending on your needs, we have even more information in store for you.
However, our pre-onboarding isn't just a space for imparting information. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to meet your Team Leader, who will initially introduce you to the plan for future activities, introduce the team and give you useful materials. And if something is still unclear to you, don't be afraid to ask. What I always say to new employees during their first days when they are stressed is: "the hardest part is already behind you, now you're just going uphill"! You have successfully passed the recruitment, so in all likelihood you are a good person in a good place.
The day has just arrived. You are standing in front of the office door to begin your Advox adventure. There's a lot to get to know ahead of you - a new team, an interesting assignment, and even a foosball table and the latest PS5 await you, but let's start at the beginning. What does your first day at Advox look like?
First we'll stop for a visit to your team room, where you'll get to know your team, get comfortable and unpack your welcome pack. Continuing to grab a cup of coffee or tea, we'll head to one of the conference rooms, where I'll tell you a little about the company. I'll show you materials that will help introduce our organizational culture. I'll also introduce you to people you may want to contact during your first few days. No worries - if you don't remember something, you'll also learn about the tools that store that knowledge!
It's time for another, this time more active point in the plan - a tour of the office! Floor by floor I will show you what our Advox command center hides. You'll also have a chance to meet everyone working in the office on a daily basis. We'll even hook you up with a massage room, where you'll be able to relax in our galactic massage chair during a break.
Next, you will already be led by your Team Leader (or buddy), introducing the team, projects and work flow. He will tell you about the plan for the next few weeks. This will give you an idea of what you will be working on and what to expect in the coming days.
Remember, at any stage, feel free to boldly ask questions - after all, we're all working toward one goal and we're here to support you at the beginning of your journey.
Your first day of work is behind you. You also already know your new tasks and our work culture. Now it's time to see what's next?
We will start this part of the onboarding with an implementation task and familiarization with the project. We'll spend more time on the latter element in particular, but once you're familiar with the project and how it works, you can confidently move on to performing related tasks.
During the probationary period, another important element of the implementation awaits you - two feedback meetings. We will arrange the first one after a month of our cooperation. What will we talk about? Our assumption is that feedback should be valuable to both parties. For this reason, we would like to hear your opinion first. We are eager to hear how you are working with us, whether you need something for further development and whether we can improve things. The meeting will also be attended by a Team Leader (or buddy), who in turn will give you technical tips related to your work.
It's been a couple of weeks, so it's time for another feedback. What makes our second meeting different from the first? Since we have known each other, for almost 3 months now, it is during this conversation that we will make a joint decision on further cooperation. We will summarize our mutual thoughts and feelings. And that's basically it. The moment we sign the next contract, our onboarding process ends. Armed with your new knowledge, you can continue to grow as you work on your projects (all while wearing the Advox sweatshirts we hand out at the end of your probationary period). Now that you know our onboarding process inside out, it's high time to decide if you want to join us. Take a look at our
